ARTIST BIO

Rob Bibber is a Maine-based singer-songwriter rooted in heartland rock and Americana. A Marine Corps veteran and longtime cover band vocalist, he spent years performing in bars and local venues before turning his focus to writing and recording his own music.

That shift came after the loss of his wife to cancer, when songwriting became a way to process real experiences and turn them into something lasting. His songs draw from a life built outside the music industry—growing up on the Maine coast, working on the water, serving in the military, and raising a family.

Rob’s sound is grounded in the tradition of artists like Tom Petty and John Mellencamp—melodic, story-driven songs that hold up whether backed by a full band or stripped down to a single guitar.

He is currently releasing original music while building toward a full-length album, and performing live shows that blend familiar covers with originals that fit naturally alongside them.

THE JOURNEY

I didn’t set out to build a music career. I grew up on the coast of Maine. My dad was a lobsterman, and I started hauling traps of my own when I was twelve. That’s where I learned what real work looks like. After that came the Marine Corps. Different environment, same idea—discipline, responsibility, and doing what needs to be done whether you feel like it or not. Music was always part of my life. About twenty years ago I started singing in cover bands and spent time playing in bars and local venues. That changed when my wife got sick. Losing her to cancer was the point where everything shifted. That’s when I started writing my own songs—not for a project or a band, but just because I needed to. Music helped me express and process the grief. From there, I made the decision to start recording and releasing them. Right now I’m putting songs out and playing them live, but the goal is bigger than that. I’m working toward a full album, building it one song at a time. The live show reflects that with a mix of my originals and selected covers. I’m not trying to chase trends or fit into anything. I’m just writing and playing songs that are real, and building something that lasts.
